Eric's Project - Part 44

(7/1/01):  I finally welded the nut into my exhaust and ran all the wiring, and hooked up my Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge...

This is where I decided to install the gauge itself.  It offers good visibility in this location, PLUS it was extremely easy to mount!  Since I have a dashpad on my dash (carpet), I just put the loop side of some Velcro on the bottom of the gauge, and it stuck right to the dash! No drilling or anything!  The display is incredibly BRIGHT, which is good for daytime driving, but at night its WAY to bright -- Lucky for me it has a built in dimming feature (just hook it up to a +12V source that's on when the lights are, and it automatically dims when you turn on your lights!).

This was about the best place I could find to weld the bung.  There's nothin' much to it, other than drilling a hole and welding, and running some wire.

I drove the car for a while, after I installed the gauge, and sure enough it was pegged out FULL RICH!  So I'm currently in the process of re-jetting my carbs to get it just right!  You can definitely tell that its running rich by one of my sparkplugs:

I need to spend some serious time jetting these carbs out, but when I'm done I'll have Top HP, and Top mileage!
