Eric's Project - Part 43

(6/21/01):  I Decided I needed to add several small fuseblocks, as I was running out of room on my original fuse-box to plug all my 'accessories' in (power windows, power locks, gauges, etc.).  I decided I needed to run 2 fuseblocks that were switched off of the ignition +12V, 1 fuseblocks that was a constant +12V, and one fuseblock that was switched off of my lights (illumination) +12V.  I also needed a 'ground bus' (a common location to ground MANY things) With some heavy gauge wire, a few standard 40A automotive relays, and four fuseblocks (with 6 protected power wires each), I was able to do this.

This is what my 'ground bus' looks like...  It WAS about 2 feet long, but that was WAY more than what I needed.  I just mounted this up under the dash, and whala!

These are the fuseblocks that I used.  I used 4 of them.  They are mounted side by side, under the passenger-side dash (along with the ground bus).

While I was doing all this, I decided to just wire up ALL of my accessories (anything aftermarket that I had installed) to my new fuseblocks.  This really turned out to be fun; NOT!  I had a HUGE mess of wires, but in the end it all turned out O.K.

This is what it looked like after...  Not too bad (that's a TON of wires!)

That's it for now.
