Eric's Project - Part 42

(5/12/01):  I Received my order from aircooled.net!  Since I don't have practically any of this stuff installed yet (7/3/01) I will just show some pics of what I bought.

This is my new Mallory Unilite optical distributor with vacuum advance (the box on the right is the adjustment parts -- springs, spacers etc.)  Its a VERY COOL unit, I cant wait to get it on and tuned!  This distributor allows me to tune practically EVERYTHING on it (advance curves, etc.) AND it will replace my 009 and connect up to the vacuum port on my Weber 44 IDF's! (possibly better gas mileage!).

This is what the air/fuel ratio gauge looks like.  The piece on the left is the sensor (you have to weld a nut into your exhaust, and then mount this sensor there), and the box with all the LED's is the actual gauge.  Its nice and compact, and included enough wire to run all the way back to the engine!  This gauge will help me fine tune the jetting on my carb's, for optimal performance/gas mileage.

I was having some problems with my megavolt wires...  They were causing a lot of static to get through to my stereo...  So, I bought this NICE set of Jacobs 8.5mm wires, and it solved the problem!  They are EXTREMELY NICE wires!

Now that my engine has more $$$ parts on it, and is not to mention a little higher performance, I want to keep an eye on it.  So I ordered these gauges; from L to R: Cylinder head temp, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, and Volt.  In the long run I may have a few more, but for know this is it.  I want to mount them in a console on the right side of my dash (next to the speedometer), however NO ONE makes anything that would even come close to working.  I'm thinking about vacuum-forming my own custom console for it! (BTW, that thing in the foreground is the Temp/pressure sensor)

On the left are my Spark Plug indexing shims, and on the right is my new Billet Oil drain plate.  The spark plug indexing shims will help set my spark plugs in the CORRECT position (so the electrode isn't being shielded).  This is one of the VERY small details that most people don't even know about.  The billet drain plate is to replace my stock unit, and the stock units tend to not be true, and leak. (plus this one looks cool!)

I just HAD to get me one of these!  I got it off ebay; I put it on my glovebox.

Just another one of the small trim items that I think looks better billet: The door lock plungers. The middle pic is what the stock ones look like.  (the billet units have less of a 'ledge' to help keep idiots from unlocking your car with a coat hangar)

That's it for now!
