Eric's Project - Part 38

(3/14/01):  Now that the floorpans have been restored, it is time to install the tarboards, padding, and carpet!  I am using tarboard from www.aircooled.net, and sewfine's padding and carpet (which I also ordered through www.aircooled.net).

Here's what we are starting with...  The HUGE sewfine box that has been sitting in my ROOM for about 6 months!

I forgot to take some pics earlier in the process, but what I have done so far is contact cement the tarboards in, then I used 3m super 77 spray adhesive to attach the padding (which is THICK), and some of the carpet.

The carpet is pretty much done!    One of the 'harder parts' of the hole job was finding all of the screw holes for my center console, and fire extinguisher (had to do some 'prodding' to find them)!  BTW, the flash was a little too bright in these pics, so its a bit washed out... believe me though, that carpet is dark black! (oh and those little white spots on the carpet were from me... I already got 'em dirty!)

Once its done, there's not that much to see...  just a little in the back, and with my floormats covering the majority of the new stuff upfront, there's only a little to see there as well.  (Notice my "window crank" above the speaker? That's right, POWER!)

Looks good, but now I have to keep it clean! DOH!

Stay tuned for part 39, where I do the rear padding, and carpet!
