Eric's Summer Project - Part 20

(9/25-27/00):  Got some tidbits done here, and there...  Decided to take off the cylinders, and pistons, and piston rings, so that I could clean them up real good, and replace a few seals.  Got all that done, got the heads mounted, and the adjustable pushrod to the proper length (it has already been sent of, so I can have all my Chromoly units cut).  Its getting closer and closer EVERY DAY!

I forgot to get before shots, but this is what the nicely cleaned up pistons, and rings looked like when I installed them. (Yes, I prelubed them after the pic).

Here's what it looked like after I got the cylinders on...  I went ahead and checked the Compression ratio.  It was at stock settings, so I decided to keep it that way (for know...)

Here's what it looked like once I got the Stage 3 High performance head on, and the pushrod tubes.  Before I did all this, I didn't put the pushrod tubes in, so that I would have easy access to the adjustable pushrod (to adjust it).  Then I bolted on the ratio rockers (not picture), and I got it adjusted just right, and immediately packed it in a 12" mail tube, and shipped it off priority mail.  I hope that by the middle of next week, my new custom cut ChroMoly pushrods will be here, so I can finish the engine up.

Later, I got the right side done.

In this pic, both sides are done!

Now I have the Intake manifolds on for my Dual Weber 44 IDF's!!!

The next thing to do, is to modify all the tin to accommodate the Type 4 oil cooler conversion, and get the flaps in and working right.  Once that is done, I just need to bolt a few more things on and it'll be REALLY close to firing it up!

Stay tuned for part 21!!
