Eric's Project - Part 63

(8/24/2002) - Just a few quick pics of some things.

These are what my valvecover vents look like.  Since I plan to eventually install a sand seal, I will need plenty of crankcase ventilation.  I used a pipe cutter with a custom made 'attachment' to make the nipple on the end of the vent tube.  Then I just welded them to the valvecover and drilled the hole.

This is initially what my bracket for my oil filter looked like...  Its a little different right now (spaced out slightly farther from the valvecover to make it easier to adjust valves), but you get the idea.  If the filter gets a lot of rock chips and dents I will add a shield.

These are my new springloaded "bigmouth" Pushrod tubes.  They are anodized aluminum.

The nice part about springloaded pushrod tubes is that you can remove and install them without pulling your cylinder heads.  But if you want to install them in place of stock pushrod tubes, you have to pull the rocker arm shaft, pull the pushrods, and then mangle the stock tube and yank them out like this:

One side installed:

This is where the "bigmouth" part comes in. The bigmouth end on the pushrod tubes allows for more pushrod travel without wearing marks into the pushrod or tube lip, which is especially good for us folks with ratio rockers and non-stock cams.

The springloaded pushrod tubes fixed my oil leak(s), and they sure look nice!
