Eric's Summer Project - Part 29

(11/19/00):  GOT THE ENGINE IN!!!!!!!!!

Here the engine sits, waiting to be installed...

Here's the backside...

This is how we 'transition' VW engines at my house... We turn 'em around in the garage, then with the help of another person, We set it down on the stumps.  Then we can put a jack under it, so we can get the balance right, and wheel it right over to the car.

Once the bolts were torqued, ITS IN!!!

Just have some wiring to elongate, and a few other misc. chores, before I can *try* to start it...  I hope to get it started sometime on Tuesday the 21st.  Guess we'll see soon!

Though the engine IS in, its not 100% done.  Once I get it running decent, I'm removing the header and muffler, and bead blasting them, then coating them with POR-20, baking them, and then the exhaust can go back on.  While I'm doing this, I will also be modifying my new rear baja bumper to fit the way I want it to, and adding mounting spots for 4 (YES 4) additional tail-lights (they look cool!).  Once that is done, I will tune it even more...  Then I can get a 4-wheel alignment, and its driveable!!! (then on the next several weekends, I can get the floorpan/carpet done, the front bumper done etc...)

Stay tuned for part 30!!
