Today (8/5/00) I Went to the local VW junkyard, to pick up some misc. stuff that I needed for other projects (sorry, no pics). And I also went and got a 20-Ton press, to aide me in pressing out the bushings, and ball joints.
Here's the new press, with one of my lower control arms, waiting to be worked on:
This is what one of my lower controll arm bushings looked like. As you can see, it is old (probably original to the car). Its also very brittle. They needed to be replaced badly.
Here is what one of the Lower Control Arms looks like after the New Balljoint, and Urethane bushings have been installed.
